​A common winter resident, preferring forests and forest edges.


Frequently found in pines and cedars. The eye-stripe, not eye-ring, separates this species from the similar Ruby-crowned Kinglet.

Common woodland winter visitor in the park; frequently found in the large cedars near the locomotive in the visitor center clearing.
