American Woodcock
(Scolopax minor)

​Present in wet woods and fields year-round, with more birds present during spring and fall migrations.

Best found during vocal spring displays in late winter and early spring.

Watch for woodcocks at Mammoth Cave N.P. in wet habitats. Check the fields at the southern end of the bike trail in February and early March.
