Eastern Towhee
(Pipilo erythrophthalmus)

​A common year-round species in Kentucky.

Towhees feed on the ground and often sit on top of bushes , but they frequently sing from an exposed perch.

Easily found in Mammoth Cave N.P. in woodland clearings and at forest edges.
