Tree Swallow
(Tachycineta bicolor)

Picture

A common summer resident of lakes, ponds, and rivers. Birds linger into the fall and return to their breeding grounds early in the spring.

Unlike Rough-winged Swallows, Tree Swallows appear all white underneath in flight.

Not known to nest in Mammoth Cave N.P., but individuals are occasionally seen over the Green River.
