European Starling
(Sturnus vulgaris)

This widespread Eurasian species is identified by its long thin bill and short tail.

​Mostly found in towns and cities, rarely if ever in Mammoth Cave NP. Birds occasionally nest in cavities in sycamore trees down by the Green River.

Makes huge flocks in winter.​
