Rose-breasted Grosbeak
(Pheucticus ludovicianus)

Picture

A common spring and fall migrant in Kentucky.

These birds prefer tree tops in open areas; frequently found by locating its metallic "chink" note.

In Mammoth Cave N.P., Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks are common between late April and mid-May, and again between mid-September and mid-October.
