Yellow-breasted Chat
(Icteria virens)

An uncommon summer bird of overgrown fields and scrubby habitat. Frequently first found by hearing its unique scratchy-whistling song.

Uncommon in mostly-forested Mammoth Cave N.P. Chats might be found at the west side of Great Onyx Cave Rd, near 37.199602, -86.080386; also at the south end of the bike trail, north of Diamond Caverns.
