Louisiana Waterthrush
(Parkesia motacilla)
This warbler is a common summer resident in Kentucky. It is one of our earliest migrants, arriving in late March.
Lives and feeds along streams and rivers. Easily detected, and separated from the Northern Waterthrush by its loud, ringing song.
In Mammoth Cave N.P., this species can often be found in the gully along the River Styx Spring Trail, on the Echo River Spring Trail, and along small streams in gullies.
